Trainer Quadrant for Soaring Simulators

The Schuwirth Trainer Quadrant is a glider-specific control quadrant designed to deliver a realistic, training-oriented simulation experience.
It has been developed for use with soaring simulators such as Condor Soaring Simulator and is based on functional requirements defined in collaboration with the Soaring Society of America (SSA).

Unlike generic simulation peripherals, this quadrant directly replicates the essential controls of a real glider, supporting procedural learning, exercise repetition, and instructor-led training.

Training-oriented design

The Trainer Quadrant has been conceived as a training tool, not merely as a simulation accessory.
Each control is designed to be intuitive, robust, and consistent with real glider operation, allowing pilots and students to focus on procedures rather than on the interface itself.

It is particularly well suited for:

• Initial and recurrent training

• Normal and emergency procedure practice

• Instructor-led demonstrations and training sessions

• Home simulators with a strong training focus

What you get

Main unit

• Spoiler lever
  Progressive spoiler control with an integrated wheel brake button at the end of travel, enabling realistic energy management during approach and landing.

• Trim control
  Circular-motion trim lever designed for fine, continuous adjustment.

• Flaps control
  Single three-position rocker switch:

  • Flaps Up

  • Neutral

  • Flaps Down

• Release handle
  Dedicated release control integrated into the main unit.

Instructor remote (included)

The Trainer Quadrant includes an instructor remote, intended for training and demonstration environments:

• Spoiler override
  Allows the instructor to override the spoiler position during an exercise.

• Emergency release button
  Designed for emergency and abnormal procedure simulation.

• Programmable button
  Assignable function depending on simulator configuration and training needs.

The instructor remote is optional in use and does not interfere with normal quadrant operation when not connected.

Note: Depending on your system setup, initial Windows controller calibration and in-simulator control binding may be required.
